20 week ultrasound

Anthony and I went to our 20 week ultrasound. We usually go at 8am since you get in sooner. I'm learning that these two little girls are very sleepy around this hour. They tend to wake up around 10am and around evenings they move a ton. They are both 13 ounces, measuring only a day apart at 20 weeks, 4 days. I'm growing by the second and wondering now if I won't be able to fit in anything in the next month. Wearing sweats and leggings seem to be my staple. We are starting our funiture nursery shopping this weekend and hope we can find something we love. I'm feeling pretty good most days, just a little sleepy after work. Here's a 20 week pic.

16 week gender ultrasound
This day couldn't have come soon enough. We knew we were going to find out the genders this week. We went to the ultrasound and we told them we did not want to know and to put the genders in an envelope. The babies were doing great though and measuring where they needed to be. Right now baby A who's on my left side is head down and baby B is on my right side head up. The tech said they can move within their own side but cannot switch sides. I just started to feel them move a few days ago. Right now it feels like little critters crawling inside, especially when I eat chocolate. My coworker took the gender envelope and bought two outfits with gender specific colors. My mom and sister flew up and we went to my inlaws house to open the gifts. They were wrapped separately so the suspense was there. We unwrap the first one and its two outfits with bibs with pink and purple, I got my girl. Now for the second one, most of the family was hoping for a boy. Especially since little Robbie is the only baby boy in the family. Anthony unwrapped the second gift and it was another pink and purple matching outfit. We're excited and can't wait to get started on the princess room.

12 week NT scan
I had the NT scan today where they measure the babies and check for down syndrome. I guess with twins the NT scan is only 70% accurate compared to a singleton is 90% accurate. the necks were 1.6 and 1.7. they were measuring 7.5 cm 7.6 cm in length. i took a bunch of blood tests but i have no intention of getting an amnio or cvs. we got to record a 20 min. video and they were moving a lot. One of the babies pushed against something and flew back an inch or so. It was so cute. He pulled up the 3d scan and they looked like two aliens with their funny skulls. my next u/s is in 4 weeks and they will start checking my cervix every 2 weeks.
