10 week ultrasound
We finally hit our milestone by entering into our 10 week ultrasound. Ofcourse I continue to be nervous, I pray everyday that god keep these babies growing and healthy. Once the ultrasound started, the doctor noticed how big they looked immediately. One of the babies is already a week ahead and the other is 3 days ahead. She said the heartbeats were around 150-160's. The cutest part was they were both moving around so much like they were dancing. We got some great pictures that I will post eventually. As we get further along, I get more confidant that these babies will both make it. It's still hard to believe and I haven't quite wrapped my head around having twins. We are very thankful to our doctor for helping us get this far.

8 week ultrasound
Thursday was our 8 week ultrasound. I was still quite nervous and anxious as my symptoms were going away that week. I had more energy and didn't feel sick. My RE started the ultrasound and found baby number one measuring 8 weeks and 4 days with 180 bpm heartbeat. Baby number two was 8 weeks and 3 days with 170 bpm heartbeat. The theory is with two high heartbeats, is that they are girls but we'll see. We got to hear the heartbeats for the first time. The sound made me cry, it definitely was a special moment. I have another ultrasound at 10 weeks and 12 weeks and then we leave our RE and go onto a high risk OB and a Perintologist. I'm looking forward to the holidays and hoping time will fly by.

First Milestone-The big Ultrasound
We had our ultrasound last friday exactly 6 weeks and 1 day. I unfortunately was an emotional mess before the ultrasound as I had a scary day the day before that I won't get into. Finally the day comes and Anthony and my heart is beating so fast sitting in that waiting room. The doctor is an hour late. We finally get in there and the first thing the doctor says is "lets check out the babies." And I said "babies?" He said "well, or baby." So he starts the ultrasound, finds the sac and shows us the baby with a heart beat. I ask what the number is and he says "160 bpm." I feel relieved. Anthony happens to say "is there a twin in there?" The doctor says "let me check. You have twins." He said this in a very calm voice. I said "yah right, you are kidding right?" For whatever reason I never thought twins. He then begins to show us the two sacs with the two heart beats. I began to say "oh my god, are you serious?" Tears streaming down my face, in total shock. At this point I can't begin to think about anything else because I'm in my own surreal world. I had so many questions for him. The doctor said "congratulations" and left the room. Anthony and I began to call our parents to let them know our incredible news. The only thing I can compare it to was the feeling of when we got engaged. Even this feels bigger than anything I have experienced. The babies are measuring right on target, one is behind the other which the nurse said is normal. We are very excited and I pray everyday that these two babies are healthy and that I can carry them full term. I'm taking it as easy as I can and so far only our immediate families and close friends know. We can't wait to scream it out but right now we are cautiously optimistic that everything will go well. Please keep us in your prayers.
symptoms weeks 4-6
As the weeks have gone by, my symptoms have been nauseousness, vomiting, not sleeping well, starving to not hungry but I know I need to eat to feel better. It's been interesting to not be able to eat food that I'm pretty used to eating like thanksgiving and greek food so far. At the same time, its a reminder that everything is growing in there.
The morning we found out
I decided that I was going to test 10 days past ovulation. I knew it could possibly be too early but I just had to. I got up at 5am which was pretty typical that week. I opened a first response early test and within 30 seconds I got a second line. Ofcourse Anthony was sleeping and I was sooo excited I woke him up and said "Anthony, there's a second line, a second line! He's like "are you sure?" It was pretty apparent, no guessing on this one. I opened up two more tests and all were two lines. For some reason I had to see the word "pregnant." So Anthony went to the store at 5am and bought the clear blue easy digital test. I instantly saw the word "pregnant."
Before we knew
The week before we knew that I was pregnant, I wasn't sleeping very well. I would wake up every night around 2-3 am and sleep on and off. I thought maybe it was stress from work since I was coordinating the high school exit exam that week. I normally don't eat much in the morning and I was starving! I would get me and my pregnant coworker jack in the box or mcdonalds breakfast sandwiches and devour them within minutes.
