The girls are getting so big!

I can't believe Cadence and Isabella are over 3 months old. They are smiling a lot now, very observant and holding their heads up pretty well. Their personalities are totally opposite. Cadence has continued to be the more reserved happy baby, she loves to be held now. A little bit of a shoulder baby. Izzy is feisty, likes to move alll the time. We're either bouncing her, or shes on the swing, or we're holding her. They are both doing well. Here's some of the latest pictures.

6 week pics

The girls are a little over 6 weeks old now. They had their first photography session and Cadence is a little ham in front of the camera. Izzy liked doing the naked pictures but after that, she was over it. Here are some from our camera as well as some pictures that I took last week.

Shawna is home!

I've been home for a little over a week now, I think everyone knows that now as Jorja has been keeping up the blog. Thanks Jorja for doing that, my stay at the hospital was tremendously difficult and I was having a hard time finding a desire to communicate to my friends and extended family. It's a very depressing environment and getting home has made me 80% better mentally. All my back pain is pretty much gone now. My abdominal surgeon told me that I have another 6 weeks to recover. I'm house bound right now due to my heart. I have another appointment with my cardiologist in a week so please pray for a good ECG and echocardiagram. My sister has officially moved in to help me with the girls. I don't know what I would do without her. This experience has been such a nightmare, thank god I'm blessed with a loving and supportive family on both sides. I will continue meeting with my 4 different doctors until they see that I'm out of the clear. I'm just taking things very easy right now and enjoying my girls. They have both grown so much already. Isabella is starting to get a little feisty so we'll see if this is a hint of what is in the future. Cadence continues to sleep well and does not cry as often as Izzy, only when she is really hungry. Right now my sleeping schedule seems to be to stay up until 3am (the first night feeding) and then Anthony or Jenny will take the next feeding around 6am. We are very lucky that they have a good night sleep pattern. They are both the same weight now 7.12oz and 21 inches long. Here are some more recent pics around the day that I came home. Thanks for everyone keeping us in your prayers.

Cadence and Isabella are here!!!!

on July 2nd Isabella Demi was born at 6:43 and Cadence Isla was born at 6:44. Isabella weighed 5'10 17 iches long and Cadence weighs 6'9 17iches long. The way I tell them apart is Isabella's head is rather smaller (like my head) than my dh's,(who are known for big heads) and Isabella has my mothers dimpled chin. Isabella is more of a mini me so far. Cadence I'm not completely sure of yet besides the bigger Puma head, she's a little lighter complected than me but they are both beautiful. So why am I still at the hospital? Anyone know about our laws and what they should the hospitals should do to accomode me, please let me know.my dad has been working on this. Also, they are both very healthy good eaters and have already gained more of their weights back and are 2 inches longer.
After recoverving in the OB ward after the c-sec, I noticed for 3 days i was going backwards in pain and not forwards. i had more pain, they all blamed this to gas. at this point i pushed out some gas had bowel movements so i was heading into the right direction. so for a whole day in ahalf no one wouild listen to use while my insides were getting sicker by the second. the next day as I was walking around, pain level brought me to my knees and i'm crying like a 2 year old in pain. they call the OB, finnally ran the cat scan that we asked for days ago, and the surgeons looked at it. he thought there might be damage and wanted to look but wasn't sure what he would find. well he found a few things, damage to my colon, appendix and my intestines. He had to remove 6 inches of my intestines and my colon and took out my appenedix. so second recovery in the ICU this time in the same week. But now I'm with the 80 year olds who are on their death bed, that worrided me just a little. MY heartbeats and blood pressures were high as well as my lung has partically collapsed which could be from the babies. So now my HB and HBP are beoming better but not always. they moved me under one less of a scary type of ICU, I'm with the patients of cardiac so i still get one nurse which is great i have learned. some are sweet and some i could live without ever knowing agian. i miiss my babies soooo much that's the hardest thing about this. i'm glad that my mom, MIL, sister are here but then i get so jealous. I don't even listen to them tell me that there will be a date that I will be out of here. two days ago i gassed and had a bowel movement and nothing has changed. how many does the doctor want when i've been eating nothing more then what's in the IV bag? the room I was in yesterday was real closed in and so circulation and I had a panic attack, had to get out there. they gave me an axiety pill on top of my morphene, not a good to add together. i remember nothing after that someone here told the whole frequen place here. all these random people were asking me questions. i guess it was the biggest drama for thenight. i just want this nightmare to be over and be normal again. sometimes i feel like we are in the homestretch but i don't know. stay with us in your prayers, we will need them. Here are some pics

36 week ultrasound

We had our last ultrasound today. I asked if it was possible to get a earlier induction date but they said "no." I'm going to ask my OB tomorrow as I am soooo ready. We found out today that Baby A is 5.13 pounds and Baby B is 6.6 pounds. We were surprised to hear that but also know that ultrasounds can be off plus or minus so we'll see. Every ultrasound we have had has been great and the girls have done so well, their poor mommy is suffering but I know it will be all worth it. I'm hoping by sunday I will go into labor, the weight on my body has made me fairly handicapped. At this point my mom is helping me dress and makes me food. The next post should be my birth story, can't wait.

our first early labor sign

saturday around 3am, I woke up to contractions being 4 minutes apart. after an hour of counting, I called the oncall doctor and she told me to go into labor and delivery. They monitored me for a few hours but sent me home as my cervix was still closed. We really thought the girls were going to come within the next day. The pain of the contractions were nothing like the usual braxton hicks but I guess they aren't ready to meet everyone yet. I have gotten other signs that labor is not too far away so hopefully by the end of the week we will have them home. I'll keep you updated.

Our nursery (so far)

Here's what we have done with the nursery. We still need to add some frames and window treatments. Today I'm having one of those days where I feel the girls will be coming soon. We'll see.
